Splitwise

Splitwise is an app that tracks and splits costs among multiple people. We created a video explaining how the app works, but kept spirits light throughout.

Creating this video started with identifying the app's target audience. People with roommates can identify with constantly fighting over split costs like rent, and these are usually younger people that will have their eyes drawn to the absurd sense of humour seen in the video. "Why is that guy eating an onion like an apple?" they might ask before being enticed enough to learn what the app does (and yes, that onion eater is me. I am nothing but committed to my craft.)

After developing a strategy and writing the script, I worked with a videographer to film the video while providing creative direction for shots. I combined my skills with theirs to create a collaborative team that worked smoothly.

As the video came together, the balance between humour and information was clear, and I'm sure roommates across the globe could see themselves in it.
